Prelim task take 1

    We have just started to film our preliminary task and Rebecca and Ashleigh have decided to have a discussion about how to do shot reverse shot. Ashleigh thinks that we need to repeat our conversation and over lap it. So that we can cut it. But she also wants us to repeat the whole conversation so that she can get her own way and that it would make my life harder. As I say most of the lines and Rebecca has different views. Rebecca thought that we shout pause at a certain scene , press stop on the recorder and then start a new video on the other side of the other persons shoulder which I thought was a really good idea. Our group does have our ups and down but we will support one another and discuss this.

First attempt at shooting a conversation about our prelim task

Our attempt at the first shooting of our conversation. Ashley is the camera woman. Me,Jess and Rebecca are the actors- in order from the left.
     In this conversation we talk about the different shots that we will use and the reasons why. The reason why we decided to film our conversation rather than just a voice over or a script, was because we could show you our filming techniques. As well as us trying to get the hang of using the camera and how sensitive it is.

Humour in the group

 The humour that we have in our group is amazing! Our preliminary task will blow you away! stay tuned in to this blog to find out the new updates on our group:)

Conversation about our prelim task

   Today me and the group are recording our conversation discussing what we are going to do for our preliminary task. In the video we discuss what types of shots we are going to use. By discussing the shots we was able to do we was able to get an idea of the places we would be able to do this according to the weather. We needed to consider the weather and the days that we allocated a filming slot. The match on action shot we was discussing how we was going to do this. As I thought that we could do a person walking through a curtain or opening a curtain as some thing different , But other members thought that this was a bad idea and that we should just stick to the walking through the door and be the same as everyone else.  This is because we didn't want to over complicate things so we tried to keep things simple. The way in which we was going to try and do the shot reverse shot was by having two people having a conversation. This way we can have a camera over one persons shoulder then pause the shot while the camera person goes round to the other persons shoulder so that we can get the shot reverse shot.

My Media group!

 My media group!

( from left to right)
we have Jessica who does the music, Rebecca who does the editing, Ashleigh who does the filming and angles shots, and Laura(me) im the person who gets to be a rag doll and puyt make up on.

Why I chose A-level media...

The reason in which I chose A-level media is simply because I have always desired to become a director of some kind even if it is just doing adverts or music videos. This qualification will enable me to have my dream. media is a completely new world compared to today's society and with the way that we live. I believe that in the future we will all be run by the media and the technology of today will aspire the generations of tomorrow.
      Media has so many different opportunities for people my age. Media can be broken down into so many different categories. Such as editing, filming, music composers, script composers and many more.

Talking us

  This is us talking about our preliminary task. We decided to have a group discussion about the different ideas that we had for our task , as well as what we can use. There was a big debate of what we should do as we had so many different ideas ( because everyone in the group was contributing with their ideas). Some of the ideas that we discovered were very unique and in our group we like to be unique and original  This lead us to having a fabulous idea but unfortunately it was too complicated for us to act out and for it to work. All we really needed was a simple but great idea. However it had to include;

                  ~ 180 degree rule.
                  ~ Match on action.
                  ~ A shot reverse shot.

At the end of debating about our ideas and trying to include every ones ideas some how. We managed to come up with the idea that ' we had some one walking in to a room ( match on action ) and starting a conversation with another person who was sitting down at a desk who was upset ( a shot reverse shot ).' The 180 degree rule was also used in this as a part of the bit when they have a conversation and the camera goes to one side so you can see them both in 1 shot. The reason why we did not want the weather to become a problem was because if it was not the right weather then the film clip would not be match on action. So we chose to do it in an isolated room where we would have no distractions.
    In this task we had;
          Ashleigh Fearne  Filming.
          Jessica Seaney in the middle of the group.
          Laura-Anne Wynne ( me) Left of the group.
          Rebecca Rahman to the right of the group.
