This is shot reverse shot. You can use this to show both sides of a conversation. Its just like over the shoulder shot but a ferw of those shots combined.People would often use this shot in the middle of am argument.you would use a 'shot reverse shot' , if 2 people were having an argument or a conversation. But just focusing on those two people it means that its either important or they are important.You could use this in every genre allthough it is most commonly used in horror,thriller and romantic comedies.

This is a shot when the head and shoulders are the only things that can be seen of the body.This is used to show expressions or emotions of that character.It can also be a shot of an object, you could zoom in to the object to show more detail.

Basically its a shot where it will establish the scene, this gives the viewer information about where your filming is set. Its usually a wide or long shot and it most oftentimes appears at the begging of a scene.
